  • The camera angle is slightly above dead on and the soft lighting style is from the right. Hints of blueberries sit on top as syrup cascades down the pancake stack. Flatware leans on the purple rimmed plate and the out of focus coffee cup on purple and white linen table cloth round out the composition. This is a macro style, high speed study and is presented here in a landscape orientation.
  • Fried Egg En Croute is an entree made with Phyllo dough shaped into a rectangular shell photographed from above. It is filled with asparagus, roasted tomatos, sauteed garlic, parmesan cheese then baked with spices and herbs. The delectable treat is finished with a fried egg and served on a bed of kale leaves all resting on a cast iron grill pan on dark wood. The image is in a landscape orientation and softly back lit.
  • The landscape orientation and extremely low angle of view, selective focus technique and high degree of compression from the telephoto lens used, creates beautiful bokeh effect to the out of focus areas of the entree. The spinach crepe with roasted Brussels sprouts, red onion slices and mushrooms flow in and out of focus with an emphasis on the crepe. The food is presented on a thick glass plate and sits on a highly reflective surface which accentuates the selective focus technique.
  • A very moody close up still life study of freshly picked green beans artfully arranged on a wood surface. The light is softly direct creating an interesting display of saturation and color rendition as it dances with the subject. Our camera is slightly overhead and the crop is in a landscape orientation.
  • Horizontally cropped and from a birds-eye view this high resolution image glows with beautiful blues, browns, yellows and reds. The chicken patty burger is served on a white plate and is topped with grilled multi-colored bell pepper slices and thinly sliced raw onions. The juxtaposition of shapes and saturated colors arfully illustrates a popular hamburger alternative.
  • Our camera angle is slightly overhead and the image is cropped to a landscape orientation in this macro image. The tomatoes have been egg washed and battered prior to immersion in the 350º fat. Shot as they are cooking, the beautiful yellow and browns of the batter are exquisitely reproduced. Using a short flash duration expertly captures the turbulent and bubbling hot oil.
  • A colorful and bold landscape image evoking the gifts of the new spring season. A slightly overhead angle of view finds the composition on fine bright yellow and white linens. The spaghetti squash is baked and topped with mushrooms, mango slices, honeydo melon, cantalope, carrot shavings and frest herbs. Virgin olive oil is drizzled over all and the streaking light from back left adds intense dimension to the subject.
  • A low angle view of a beet patty hero sandwich made with raw white onion and tomato slices, rolled mango slices substitue for cheese and avacado chunks stacked high on a pretzel bun. Lettuce and bean sprouts finish this entree which sits on a distressed wood cutting board and is served with roasted sweet potato rounds. Dramatically lit from the left, the background is muted and out of focus exhibiting strong bokeh effect cropped in a landscape orientation.
  • This image of Miso Soup is photographed at a 45º angle and is cropped tightly in a landscape orientation. The dish incorporates leeks, carrots, seaweed and shitake mushrooms in a miso broth with sprinkles of sesame seeds in a white bowl. The back and side lighting technique creates depth in the broth and a sculptural effect to the mushrooms.
  • Resting on a dark wood surface strewn with herbs, spices and crumbs of crust the camera is straight down on the subject. A shaft of light enters this landscape cropped scene, illuminating the margherita style pizza, from above left. The pizza has one slice cut and slightly removed. Freshly sliced tomatoes are baked with cheese on a thin crust and finished with just picked basil leaves, herbs and spices. The feeling is warm with the beautifully fresh and baked ingredients.
  • A landscape orientation of spiralized zucchini in a shallow pool of basil pesto with chickpea balls substituting meatballs is a gluten free vegetarian entree image on a white china plate with minimal black designs. Shaved parmesan cheese, red cabbage and fresh herbs finish this gluten free entree. The low angle and telephoto lens creates a highly compressed visual which exhibits a desireable bokeh effect to the out of focus tomato salad composition in the background. The flatware is silver with black ebony handles and rests comfortably on a black slate surface.
  • This high speed, short flash duration macro still life study of dry confetti beans cooking is viewed at 60º. The boiling water is turbulent with hundreds of bubbles. Our lighting is window style from the back which creates beautifully interesting highlights on the water. The image is presented in a landscape orientation.
  • The low camera angle is directed at the opening of this cut Italian staple and gracefully stacked spinach style Calzone. It rests easily on a rich wood surface with the fresh marinara sauce and spinach layered with mozzarella in a crisp dough. This shot is in landscape orientation and is softly lit from back and above with additional light for the interior of the subject. The rich green of spinach, white of mozzarella and rich red of sauce are beautifully framed by the yellows and browns of the freshly baked crust all on a reddish wood surface.
  • A southern classic of freshly battered chicken drumsticks frying in lard. The composition is tightly cropped and seen from above. The subject resides in a cast iron fry pan on a black stove. There are five pieces of chicken and the slow shutter speed creates a wonderfully turbulent pool of 350º fat. Our lighting is from the left and the sculptural quality contrasts with the motion of the bubbling oil. This image is predominantly black and golden brown in a landscape orientation.
  • Extreme close up of just picked okra on a wood background. The camera angle is at 45º and the image is cropped in a landscape orientation. The late day light accentuates the highly saturated green of the okra in a very dramatic fashion.
  • Served on a rich blue rimmed plate, this center sliced green cauliflower has been roasted and placed in a shallow pool of basil pesto sauce. The foreground side dishes include thinly sliced roasted sweet potatos, sauteed mushrooms and garlic slices with carmalized red onions . The landscape orientation, straight down camera angle and dramatic lighting create a delicious addition to this visually intense composition. A completely vegetarian and gluten free entree which tastes as wonderful as it looks.
  • Chocolate Pour On Banana
  • The single pear en croute with a lazy molasses pour is an example of high speed photography. The image is taken from a low angle in a landscape orientation. The pears are a beautiful burgandy color from poaching, partially wrapped with a golden baked gluten free crust. The background is out of focus exhibiting bokeh effect and has shades of warmth and white lit softly from behind and right.
  • This country style apple pie photograph is in a landscape orientation and is shot from directly overhead. A coarse, fold over baked crust frames the apple pie and is dusted with powdered sugar. Star anis garnish finishes this dessert which was baked in a terracotta dish and sits on a distressed wood surface. A blue and white checked kitchen cloth artfully tucks into the dish from the right and a wooden spoon in metalic measuring container containing powdered sugar is in the upper center of the image. The light source is low and to the left creating beautiful highlights and sculptural elements to the structures.
